Malware attachment spreading via Email as Payroll Report

Real Malware Attachment in your Inbox

Do not open the zip file if any Email comes to your inbox stating Payroll Report. This may be a Malware attachment. Before opening the email, pay attention if that is a valid email. Double check the sources or headers to find out if it is sent from your company. Make sure it is legitimate and not putting your privacy in jeopardy.

Various Mac and PC users are receiving Email containing a Malware attachment (Trojan) enveloped in a zip file or pdf. The Malware attachment may be found in any device. The following is an Email contents that asks you that you have received Payroll Report. Mostly it’s a zip file. The details of the circulated email is like this:

Dear,

[?] (it can be any word inside the brackets, such as info or admin or support, etc. or your name)

We received your payroll on Mon, 19 Oct 2015 12:15:43 -0600.

Attached is a copy of your Remittance. Please click on the attachment in order to view it.

Please note the deadlines and status instructions below:
If your payroll is received BEFORE 5 p.m., your Direct Deposit employees will be paid two (2) banking days from the date received or on your paycheck date, whichever is later.
If your payroll is received AFTER 5 p.m., your employees will be paid three (3) banking days from the date received or on your paycheck date, whichever is later.

YOUR BANK ACCOUNT WILL BE DEBITED THE DAY BEFORE YOUR CHECKDATE.

Funds are typically withdrawn before normal banking hours so please make sure you have sufficient funds available by 12 a.m. on the date funds are to be withdrawn.

Intuit must receive your payroll by 5 p.m., two banking days before your paycheck date or your employees will not be paid on time.
Intuit does not process payrolls on weekends or federal banking holidays. A list of federal banking holidays can be viewed at the Federal Reserve website.

If you already opened this file and have noticed some changes in your computer, do not keep using. Turn your computer off and consult an expert that deals with the Malware removal. Though this malware is designed to have impact on PC, it is able to use Mac platform as well as gets quickly spread via Email. The main purpose of this malware is to facilitate more malware in the system.
